Welcome to the Big Flat Bulletin!
I, Bridget Reed, am a senior at Turner High with aspirations of studying Journalism in my secondary education, and I’m excited to share with you an opportunity I’ve been given to work with Tricia Kimmel to bring a free online news publication to the Big Flat. This collaboration will provide me with work experience and references, as well as a small financial benefit to help offset college costs, in addition to providing a valued service to the Turner and Hogeland communities.
This new publication will include upcoming events and other stories pertinent to our area in one central location. The platform is intended to complement but not replace the school monthly newsletter. We will publish some sports news and other school-related events, but the focus of the Big Flat Bulletin will remain community-focused covering things like upcoming events, reports of recent current affairs, club and organizational activities, local church happenings, general interest stories and more.
Readers and community members are invited and encouraged to reach out to Tricia or me with any story suggestions. The online edition will be posted every two weeks initially, and we encourage you to subscribe using the form at the bottom of the page to receive each edition in your inbox or phone.
